Campaign TitleAimhigher Roadshow Programme DescriptionTo reach young people in areas identified as having low HE participation, eight, high profile, campaign branded mobile display vehicles visit Year 9 school students and further education colleges. Over 152,400 students per year enter a high tech, cutting edge environment designed to capture their attention from the moment they arrive. Fifteen students per session take part in a 30 minute interactive "Aimhigher" experience produced by the BBC. The vehicle used provided the ability to visit a high number of locations in a short period of time due to the ability to set-up and break-down quickly allowing overnight travel between events. Programme AimsThe Governments aim is that by 2010, 50% of young people should have the opportunity to benefit from higher education. Excellence challenge is a three-year programme, operating for 32 weeks each year, that aims to increase the number of young people from lower socio-economic groups participating in Higher Education. |
